Who's on the Rhode Island Roster

Suppah Social was founded in Providence and the RI roster is the heart of the platform. We're a private dining marketplace, not a catering company or an employer — we don't hire chefs, we verify them and connect them with paying members. The state is small enough that the chef network is one degree of separation. We're looking for restaurant veterans moonlighting on weekends, Johnson & Wales grads building a private clientele, caterers tired of doing their own admin, executive chefs going independent, and Federal Hill / Newport seafood specialists who want a steadier private practice.

You don't need a brick-and-mortar restaurant. You don't need a website. You need to be insurable, food-safe certified, willing to be background-checked, and able to cook for 6–30 people in a private kitchen.

Three Booking Types, One Profile

Private dinner parties— A member hires you to cook in their home, a host's space, or a vetted Providence / Newport venue. Multi-course menu, 6–14 guests, $80–$250 per head. You design the menu, set the price, and keep 95% (5% platform fee).

Ticketed dining events— Build your following. List a suppah on the public calendar (8–30 seats, $40–$200 per ticket), members buy in, you cook. 70% to chef / 25% to host / 5% platform. Great for testing menus, building reviews, and stacking weeknight income.

Weekly meal prep— Publish a rotating weekly menu. Members subscribe. You cook once or twice a week, they pick up or you deliver. $14–$24 per meal, 95% to chef, recurring revenue every Monday.

· Meal prep, 8 subscribers (5 meals/week at $20, 95% to chef): ~$760/week · ~$3,000/month

A chef running all three formats part-time can clear $6,000–$9,000/month. Full-time chefs running tight ops have cleared more. RI's small enough that word-of-mouth compounds fast once your reviews land. These are gross marketplace earnings — you're a 1099 independent contractor, so plan for self-employment tax accordingly.
