Trust & Safety

Safety isn't a feature. It's the foundation.

You're walking into a stranger's home, sitting at their table, eating food made by someone you've never met. That only works if everyone at the table has been verified. Here's exactly how we make that happen.

How verification works

01

Government ID Verification

Every member scans a government-issued photo ID and takes a live selfie. Our partner Stripe Identity confirms the face matches the ID using biometric analysis. We never store your raw ID — only the verification result.

02

Safety Background Check

After ID verification, we automatically run a check against national predator registries. Anyone flagged is permanently denied. Anyone with elevated risk is reviewed by our team before approval. This happens in seconds, not days.

03

Membership ID Issued

Once you pass both checks, you receive a unique Suppah Social Membership ID. This is your key to the platform — it confirms you've been verified and vetted. You'll receive a welcome email with your ID and next steps.

04

Ongoing Trust Scores

After every suppah, members rate each other. Hosts rate guests. Guests rate chefs and hosts. These trust scores are visible and influence future event access. Consistently great members get priority access to sold-out events.

What we promise

We never store raw IDs

Your government ID image is processed by Stripe Identity and immediately discarded. We only keep the verification status — verified or not verified. Your actual ID never touches our servers.

We never share your data

Your personal information is never sold, shared with advertisers, or given to third parties. Event addresses are only shared with confirmed ticket holders. Your real name is never shown to other members without your consent.

We take every report seriously

If something doesn't feel right at a suppah, report it. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours. Memberships can be suspended or revoked immediately if safety is at risk. We err on the side of protecting our members.

For hosts

Every guest walking through your door has been ID-verified and background-checked. You'll know their first name, their trust score, and their dietary preferences. You'll never be surprised by who shows up.

Your home address is never shown publicly. Only confirmed ticket holders see the address, and only after purchase. If you ever feel unsafe, you can cancel an event and we'll handle the refunds.

For guests

Every chef cooking your food is licensed and ServSafe certified. Every space you visit is vetted by our team. Every other guest at the table has passed the same verification you did.

If something feels wrong — before, during, or after a suppah — report it. We investigate every report and take action within 24 hours. Your safety is more important than any single event.

Report a concern

If you experienced something at a suppah that made you uncomfortable, or if you have a safety concern about any member, email us directly. Every report is reviewed by our team within 24 hours.
