The chef roster is hand-curated — every private chef in the directory lives within service radius of the city, has passed our four-credential vetting (food safety, allergen, business license, insurance), and has been background-checked and ID-verified. We're not aggregating Yelp listings or pulling chefs from a national network.
Most Boston chefs cook anywhere within a 25-mile travel radius — that pulls in Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, Newton, Quincy, Pawtucket, and Providence. Set your dinner's neighborhood and the explore page filters chefs whose service area overlaps yours.
The roster skews multi-cultural and home-style: Cuban-American, Vietnamese, Korean, Italian, Lebanese, French-trained, contemporary American. Most chefs come from a restaurant or catering background and built a private practice on the side. Cuisines + dining styles + dietary specializations are tagged on every profile so you can filter by, say, "Cambridge-area chef who handles low-FODMAP and does seafood-tasting menus."
