Newton is a town of milestone dinners. B'nai mitzvah weekends, graduation Sunday when every high school in the city lets out at once, the anniversary party in Waban where nobody wants to drive into Boston and back. The houses have the kitchen for it — deep islands, double ovens, a Newton Centre table that seats fourteen with the leaf in. What they don't have is someone to run the night who isn't also the host.
That's the whole job. Your chef arrives hours early, takes over the island, cooks and plates every course, and hands the kitchen back clean while you're still sitting at the table with your family. Newtonville, West Newton, Auburndale, Nonantum, Newton Highlands, Chestnut Hill — the chefs on Suppah Social cover all thirteen villages, and the drive from a Waltham or Boston-side kitchen is short enough that a 6pm start actually means 6pm.
Private dining in Newton starts at $125 per person and moves with the chef, the menu and the headcount. That number is all-in: menu planning, groceries, cooking, service and cleanup. Weekly meal prep starts at $20 a meal. Public ticketed suppahs run $40 to $200 a seat.
Suppah Social takes a 5% platform fee. The rest goes to the chef — or splits with the host when you book someone else's space. We're not a discount marketplace, and we don't ask chefs to bid each other down. Compare real prices on the chef directory before you send anything.

Every chef below is ID-verified through Stripe Identity, background-checked, and carries four approved credentials. Chefs set their own travel radius — most cover about 25 miles from their kitchen, which puts Newton well inside range.

FAQ
Chefs set their own prices — we don't publish a rate card and we don't discount their work. Today private dining on Suppah Social starts at $125 per person, all in: menu planning, groceries, cooking in your kitchen, service, and cleanup. Weekly meal prep starts at $20 a meal. Public ticketed suppahs run $40 to $200 a seat depending on the chef and the menu. You see the exact number on a chef's profile before you send a single request.
Everything from the shopping list to the sink. Your chef builds the menu around your headcount and your restrictions, buys the groceries, shows up early, cooks in your kitchen, plates and serves each course, then cleans the kitchen before they leave. You supply the space and the people. What's not included unless you ask: rentals, extra service staff, and alcohol.
Four gates, and none of them are optional. A government ID matched to a live selfie through Stripe Identity. A national background check. Four credentials uploaded and reviewed by a human on our team — food safety (ServSafe), allergen training, business license, and liability insurance. And a working Stripe Connect account so every payout is traceable. A chef cannot publish a menu or accept a booking until all of it clears.
All thirteen villages — Newton Centre, Newtonville, West Newton, Auburndale, Waban, the Highlands, Newton Corner, Upper and Lower Falls, Nonantum, Chestnut Hill, Oak Hill and Thompsonville. Needham, Wellesley, Weston, Waltham and Brookline sit inside the same travel radius for most of our chefs.
You need an account, and it's free. Suppah Social is a private dining community rather than an open marketplace, so everyone gets ID-verified before they can book a chef or sit at a table. No monthly fee, no minimum, no membership tier to upgrade into. You pay when you book, and that's the whole bill.
You do. A private booking is your guest list — your family, your friends, your team. The strangers-around-a-table version is our ticketed suppahs, which is a different product and clearly labeled as one.
Cancel 72 hours or more before the dinner and you get a full refund. Between 24 and 72 hours it's 50%. Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, there's no refund — by then your chef has already bought the food. A 50% deposit is charged when the chef accepts your request; the balance runs after the dinner, once they mark it complete.
